i am baaaaack!!!
i hope you all enjoyed meeting Jennifer on Friday! i'm telling you, homegirl sure knows how to bring tears to someone's eyes!! i cannot tell you how much that girl means to me! and how about that flashback of pictures?
embarrassing.
now on to my weekend... my 72 hours away from the world.
i honestly don't even know where, or even how to begin...
what i do know is that my weekend spent in Hayesville, NC at The Walk to Emmaus was life changing.
and a weekend that i will never forget for the rest of my life.
have you ever experienced something so powerful and amazing that when it comes to telling someone about it there are absolutely no words to be found? well that's exactly how this weekend was for me.
completely indescribable.
truth be told, i don't want to tell y'all everything that happened.
i want you each to be able to experience it first hand if you are ever presented with the opportunity to go! and if you do get to go i want everything that happens to be a surprise. i promise that you will want it to be! The Walk To Emmaus happens all over the world. you just have to be sponsored by someone you know personally that had been before. and it is a non denominational thing so you don't have to be Methodist, Baptist, Protestant, or whatever to go. you just have to be willing to let God in.
He will take care of the rest.
i do want you all to know that it wasn't easy being completely disconnected from the world... no phone, no internet, no sense of time (that's right, no clocks)... nothing. but once i was there and i was surrounded by more love and peace than i could have ever experienced, i didn't want to be connected.
i could have easily picked up my phone to check facebook, texts, emails, or just check the time, but i honestly didn't want to or have any desire in the world to do so.
it was incredible.
i will also tell you that i have never in my life been more happy than i am now. i have never felt more at peace. i have never felt more confident in the fact that i am God's child (as are each of you) and he will NEVER leave me... or you. i have been dealing with a lot of life choices here lately and i am finally okay with letting God have control and just seeing what His will for my life is.
trust me, that was hard.
i also let go of a lot of things that were holding me back from being truly happy and at peace with myself. you can forgive yourself and others all day long, but until you truly give it to God you will never be completely free of it.
but i am now... finally.
so if you are ever given the opportunity to attend The Walk to Emmaus... GOOO!!!
and enjoy the most loving, peaceful, joyous, and Christ filled 72 hours of your life!!!
i know that it was, and will always be, the best thing that i have ever done!
now what?
i had 72 hours of disconnect from the world.
time to find who i truly am and my own happiness.
what am i going to do with it?
i am going to be God's hands and feet.
i am going to show others the unending Grace and Joy that comes from knowing Christ.
and i am going to serve the Lord in every possible way.
i am beyondddd excited!!!
thank you all for your love and support.
you will never know how much it means!!
don't forget to stop over at ady's blog ... and try not to laugh when you do.

xoxo.

ReplyDeleteI loved this post! I'm definitely googling this to see if it's ever near the Augusta area...sounds like a great experience. There is something called Passion coming to Atlanta at the beginning of January but you can't be older than 25...and I'm 27. Totally disappointed haha! I'm so with you on handing everything over to God. I've been praying and praying about this lately and it's such a difficult thing to do. I feel like I'm finally getting there though. Anyway, glad you had a life changing experience. God bless : )
