OHP. online (halloween) hoarding party.

HAPPY HALLOWEENIEEEEE!!!!

i love candy. and costumes. and all day work parties. and cute babies dressed as sushi. and hott men dressed as magic mike. and i love all things HALLOWEEN!!! except for all of the scary stuff.
that ish can just go away. please and thank you.

i was going to share with you some of my costumes of halloween past like kelsey and kait did... but then i realized that my booty is showing in half of them and the other half i'm too drunk to function and take a good picture... or i'm passed out.
we can thank college and sorority life for those.

so instead i'm linking up with michelle for some oh how pinteresting (online HALLOWEEN hoarding party)
and sharing my faaaavorite halloween costumes via pinterest.
some of these people are way too dang creative for their own good.

and what am i going to be for halloween?
well since i'm prolonging the fun and not dressing up until this saturday...
you will just have to wait and see.
have a wonderful (and maybe not so spooky) day!!

xoxo.

i'm no annie oakley, but i sure am close.

is anyone else freezing their tushies off right about now?? because this girl is!!
it's not even november and we're already under a winter weather warning with a possible 8" of snow heading this way tonight!
ey yi yi. no bueno.
it would be mucho bueno if my work gave us a snow day, but when you work for the county that doesn't happen... ever.
i guess we can thank frankenstorm for this one. which by the way... if any of you blogging beauties are in the path of this so-called "perfect storm" then my prayers are with you!! my mom's entire side of the family is in Delaware and Pennsylvania so we're on our toes trying to watch the storm and make sure they stay safe!!
it gives me anxiety just thinking about it!

moving on to my weekend before i have a panic attack (storms freak me out by the way) and i mean seriouslyyyy freak me out.
weekend was good. monday sucks. blah blah blah, you know the drill.
believe it or not i have not dressed up for halloween yet!! i better get on that i know (better get on finding a costume first though i suppose). i'm hoping to attend some halloween parties this coming weekend to make up for my lack of creativity
and playing dress up this past saturday!

wanna know what the highlight of this 2.5 day work break was though??
learning to shoot guns with a hott boyfriend of an instructor!! he took me up to the shooting range in his hometown where he's gone pretty much all of his life to learn how.

boom shaka laka. so much fun, ladies!! so. much. fun.
i'm now convinced i need myself a pretty pink handgun to carry around with me.
and i may not be annie oakley just yet... but for this being only the second time in my life i've shot a gun, i'd say i did pretty darn good! especially when this target was 100 yards away!

how was your weekend?
link up with sami or one of the other hosts of the weekend update and blog away!!

nobody fell in the lake (picture overload).

the rooms and i have been wanting to take fall pictures soooo badly... but have not found the time to get around to actually doing so. mainly because we're either too tired from work or our weekend consists of too much alcohol and sleeping in.
whatever the reason... we hadn't done it.
until last night.
last night we actually got ready after work and headed to the lake to snap these babies.
granted they aren't taken with some nikoncannonextravaganzaballinasscamera ... no, they were courtesy of the ol' iphone instead.
it did a fairly decent job though i suppose.
of course i think our biggest accomplishment (outside of actually getting these taken) was the fact that neither one of us fell in the lake trying to make it into position with the 3 second self timer.
seriously, that is a miracle for clumsy mcgee here.

anywho. thought i'd share some with you.
happy fall ya'll!!

isn't this place gorgeous?
all pictures were taken at Lake Junaluska in Western NC.

have a wonderful weekend!
i know i will!!

OHP: Online Hoarding Party.

it's been a couple of weeks (okay maybe just one week) since i've linked up for some oh how pinteresting action.
you know all about some oh how pinteresting, also known as OHP, better referred to as online hoarding party.
i've been pinning all this crazy good stuff and not sharing it with my readers- how rude!!
so here we go... have a look into my online hoarding closet, but be aware it might just suck you in.

what else can i do?

i'm dealing with a lot of "what next?" and "what ifs?" right now.
a lot of questioning if i'm where i'm supposed to be in my life and if there is something more i need to be doing.
it's not that i'm necessarily looking for a change, but maybe just something more.
i love where i'm at right now. please know that. i absolutely adore the people in my life. my family and i are closer than ever. i finally have found a good, and i mean good, man. i know that i'm happiest living in the mountains. i know that i will never do anything other than social work. i'm just starting to get too content.
why is being content a bad thing? it's not. it's far from bad. but it scares me. it makes me want to do so much more with my life. help more people, touch more lives, just MORE.
so i'm praying, a lot.
praying that God will move me where i'm supposed to go, or make me stay exactly where i am.
He knows what is best, remember?

all photos/inspiration courtesy of pinterest. duhhh....

except one...
this one...

is from shay's blog
shay, who i abso-freaking-lutely ADORE (mainly because she's uber cute and her husband is known as "ddhp" ... or drew drew hott pants, whatev) went to a conference in Chicago called "Making Things Happen". Read all about it HERE. and then...
make your own things happen.
have a wonderful day!!

let's see how much we can fit into 2 1/2 days, shall we?

the amount of things i was able to squeeze into this one weekend is still amazing me. i'm serious... a double date night, a golf tournament, a pumpkin festival, an entire family dinner at my parent's house for their anniversary, a night out, a hungover morning, a third birthday party, a drive home, and finally a night on my couch with a great movie.
i'm ex-haus-tedddd this morning!
but i'm loving that i got to see so many wonderful people over the last few days!

friday night matt and i headed to franklin to spend the weekend doing all of the above. i didn't realize at the time just how much i had planned (and i'm not a planner by any means). things just sort of kept happening. sidenote: i've realized i'm much more carefree when i don't plan and i just go with the flow. i usually stress out over details, but this is all a part of my letting go, and letting God mantra.
moving on...
we spent friday night at my friend jennifer and LT's cooking supper, watching movies, and being old people. the best part?
playing with their puppy dogs!

saturday morning we woke up bright and early for a golf tournament in memory of my best friend stephanie's momma. she fought an 11 year battle with cancer and we lost her last fall. she was an incredible woman who touched so many lives by her strength!
the golf tournament was called Cindy's Wish and it raised money for a cancer fund that is going to help pay the medical bills of one cancer fighter each year.
steph and her hubby shawn. adorable, i know!!
steph, yours truly, and our bestie tommy!

saturday after the tournament we met my sister and her 4 beautiful little girls downtown for the pumpkin fest!! there was trick or treating, lots of costumes, too much food, and dancing to bluegrass music. this is one of the things i miss most about my hometown and i look forward to it every year!
our little ladybug, ballerina, poodle, and karate kid!!
handsome boy.

that night we had dinner at my parent's house to celebrate their anniversary!
then we made our way over to the (only) bar in town for some live music.

sunday was just as busy.
we headed over to my sister's house for my niece mya's 3rd birthday party. it was dora themed, like the last 2 years have been. lots of cake, babies, family, presents, and dora. it was fun, but boyyy were we wore out!
meet mya- the birthday girl!!
my niece layla and i.
talking to dora on her dora phone in her dora blankie. she's a little obsessed.

that recap just wore me out.
hope everyone had a great weekend!!
go link up with sami and fill us in on what you did :)

letters, baby.

dear erika:
ugh, i miss you already! catching up over supper last night with you and stephanie was the highlight of my week (maybe even month). good luck on your travels to Hungary, India, and New York! you encourage me every day to step out of my comfort zone, and just go! keep traveling the world and doing what makes you happy! i love you oh so much!

dear election:
get off of my social media news feeds please and thank you- you're annoying and i am so ready for you to be over.

dear matt:
this ecard had me cracking up today. i'm sorry that my indecisiveness is so out of control. you need to just start telling me what to do and not allowing me to make any decisions... especially when it comes to what restaurant we are going to.

dear greys:
i missed you last night, but for a good reason. i promise i will be catching up on you at some point this weekend!!

dear fall in western nc:
i'm sorry but you're never, ever, ever allowed to leave. you are my favorite season!! i plan on spending adequate time this weekend acting like a crazy tourist and taking pictures of your changing leaves!
on a sidenote- real tourists... drive a little faster, please and thank you.

go link up with the amazing ashley and write some letters yourself.
this is by far my favorite linkup!!
and by the way, you really need to read THIS post of hers that she wrote yesterday. girl knows what she's talking about. we serve an AWESOME God and we need to let him take control of our lives, every day.

have a wonderful weekend!
